I’m delighted to co-write this series with fellow Scot, Dr Gordon Hewitt who has been a Professor at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, for over two decades.

Dr Hewitt’s influential research, teaching and consulting in the areas of global competition, business strategy, and the changing scorecard for executive leadership especially in times of competitive disruption, have been at the leading edge of thinking about corporate competitiveness and corporate governance in the new global business system. He is one of the world’s most sought-after executive educators and advisors. He has been given the International Distinguished Faculty Award for “Best Global Educator” by the Institute of Management Studies. Gordon also teaches on top corporate programmes at the Said Business School, University of Oxford.  As a consultant, he has extensive experience for over 25 years of working at CEO and Board level with many global corporations.

Born and educated in Glasgow, Gordon was awarded the title of CBE (Commander of the British Empire) for services to international business in the Queen’s 2007 New Year’s Honours List. He has also been elected to Fellowship of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Scotland’s national academy of science and letters.
